Yako trio with James Wylie

Yako Trio is a jazz band formed in 2016 in Thessaloniki, Greece. Three musicians with a strong background on jazz music decided to share their music, play and travel together around Europe and start a vivid conversation with the musical tradition of their home region, its particular sounds and memories coming out from its very long, rich and multicultural multicultural history.

The key element to form the Trio was the work of the famous Greek musician and composer Yannis Konstantinidis, and especially his arrangement of familiar Greek traditional melodies and rhythms.

Now, they are forming their own musical identity, presenting original compositions in the particular musical style of modern jazz.

Yako Trio has collaborated with numerous great musicians from Greece and abroad. In this particular video they are joining on stage with the outstanding James Wylie on the saxophone, sharing along their unique artistry!
