PerHarps were born in 2013 from Katerina Kitsou, with the idea of creating a different and fresh harp ensemble in Greece.

Since then began the journey of this flexible harp ensemble, through the hundreds of strings, which is made of harpists of Thessaloniki. With experimentations and unconventional techniques combined with the sparkled accompaniment of percussion, through the arrangements and the original compositions of Katerina Kitsou in ethnic-minimal style, their repertoire going through baroque music, Irish, Greek and from various countries traditional music, as like cinema music, pop too.

PerHarps have participated in several productions of Thessaloniki City Hall, Archaeological Museum of Thessaloniki, State Conservatory of Thessaloniki, St. George International music festival, K.E.P.O., in different cities of Greece.

Their main characteristic is the musical- fairytale-story and their cooperation with the writer Vassiliki Harissi. They have collaborated with the contemporary dance groups of YMCA, with the Thessaloniki City Symphony Orchestra, in the musical version of the fairytale “Fricadella” of Eug. Triviza and original musical transcription of Alkis Baltas.

 

The program is about traditional Irish, Greek, jazz and swing music. In addition to that they will play original compositions of Katerina Kitsou in ethnic-minimal-cinema music style.
