Evi Tzortzi

An entertainer dances and sings in an online cabaret of the near future, in a timeless time. Living in an age where science rules, this woman has recently undergone a treatment of the nervous system: cleaning up unpleasant memories and fears to deal with her growing anxiety and sadness. The side effects, however, appear during her performance: her body sometimes stops or moves involuntarily, she loses the sense of time while she is visited by nightmares that may be part of her memories. Can she finally escape herself? Trapped more and more in the omnipotence of its image through technology but also in the search of a non-existent perfection, the human species is gradually gaining more and more distance from itself, from its own soul. How can a body move when it feels like a shadow of its own existence? What is the distance that separates it from the source of life? And while we tend to robotize, what does “human” eventually mean?
